Origin of materials
Sustainability dwells in the history, purity, and simplicity of materials. Our philosophy of innovation lies in the concept of a circular economy - the awareness of the potential of waste materials and the ability to restore and enhance them in new forms of existence. “Nothing is created and nothing is destroyed, but everything is transformed” quoting Lavoisier.
Since 1952 we have been making furnishing accessories and design objects where the natural horn is the protagonist: a precious and unique material that nature gives us at the end of animals’ life cycle. Unpredictable shades, sinuous curves, and incredible strength are just some of the many qualities of this material, which therefore lends itself to being molded to create the most various tools or furnishings.
From being a waste object to becoming a precious and eco-sustainable resource to which it is possible to give new usefulness and meanings by respecting a Nature’s gift. This is how from the noble horn material we create unique and timeless objects combining design and high craftsmanship. Their value lies in the skilled hands of the master craftsmen who shaped them and, above all, with respect towards the sustainability principles of the environment in which we live.
The horn is collected and selected exclusively from animals at the end of their life cycle, in full compliance with current legislation, and exclusively from unprotected species as required by the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
